A Local’s Favorite Summer Morning

One of my favorite ways to start a summer day in Telluride is to rent an e-bike and cruise the Valley Floor Trail to Lawson Hill for coffee and breakfast.

The ride is mostly flat, easy, and incredibly scenic, with stunning views of Ajax Peak, the San Sophia Ridge, wildflowers, and open meadows along the way. Once you arrive in Lawson Hill, reward yourself with one of Cindy Bread’s famous breakfast sandwiches and a locally roasted coffee from Telluride Coffee Roasters.

Take your time, enjoy the mountain views, and soak in a side of Telluride that many visitors never discover. After breakfast, continue exploring Lawson Hill or enjoy a leisurely ride back into town for shopping, hiking, fly fishing, or a ride up the gondola.

Local Tip: Arriving before your hotel room or vacation rental is ready? Drop your bags, rent an e-bike, and head to Lawson Hill for breakfast or lunch. It’s one of the best ways to settle into Telluride’s relaxed mountain lifestyle and experience a side of Telluride many visitors never discover.
