8:00 AM – Start with Coffee & Breakfast
Every great Telluride day begins with coffee.
Grab a locally roasted cup from Coffee Cowboy, The Telluride Coffee Company, or Telluride Coffee Roasters before enjoying breakfast at one of Telluride’s favorite morning spots.
For a quick grab-and-go option, Cindy Bread offers exceptional pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and artisan baked goods. If you’re looking for a leisurely sit-down breakfast, there are several excellent options throughout Telluride and Mountain Village. View 2026 Breakfast Offerings.
The key is fueling up before a day of exploring the San Juan Mountains.
9:30 AM – Ride the Gondola
No visit to Telluride is complete without experiencing the free Telluride-Mountain Village Gondola.
The ride provides spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and offers one of the easiest ways to appreciate the scale and beauty of the box canyon.
Take your time exploring Mountain Village before continuing your adventure.
11:00 AM – Explore Mountain Village
Mountain Village offers beautiful walking paths, luxury shops, scenic overlooks, and plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
During summer, you’ll often find outdoor events, live music, and family-friendly activities throughout the village core.
It’s the perfect place to slow down and soak in the atmosphere.
12:30 PM – Lunch with a View
One of the best parts of a Telluride summer is outdoor dining.
Choose a patio overlooking the mountains, enjoy fresh Colorado cuisine, and take your time. Summer in Telluride isn’t about rushing from one attraction to the next—it’s about enjoying the experience.
2:00 PM – Adventure Time

8:30 PM – Sunset & Strolling
As the day winds down, take one final stroll through downtown Telluride or enjoy a sunset gondola ride.
The golden light on the surrounding peaks is one of the most beautiful sights in Colorado and a perfect ending to a memorable day.
